Medical degree from the Lisbon Faculty of Medicine (""Hospital de Santa Maria"") since 1988.
Internship (general training) at ""Hospital de Faro"" from 1989 to 1990.
In October 1990 was admitted for specialty training in Cardiology at ""Hospital de Faro"", after national exam.
Specialty training in Cardiology (1991-1996) with partial trainings at ""Hospital de Santa Cruz"" in Hemodynamics, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Electrophysiology and Nuclear Medicine and at ""Hospital de Santa Marta"" in Pediatric Cardiology.
From 1996 to 2005 worked as Hospital Assistant in Cardiology at the Cardiology Service, ""Hospital de Faro""
In 2005, after a national tender, obtained the professional category of Hospital Assistant Graduate in Cardiology.
Until 2017 worked at ""Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve"" - Faro: Responsible for inpatients under treatment in the Cardiology Service; Emergency Department Coronary Intensive Care Unit ; Cardiology outpatient consultation; responsible for the Echocardiography Laboratory with special attention devoted to transesophageal and pharmacological stress echocardiography, besides conventional echocardiography; Responsible for the Holter / event monitor and ABPM (ambulatory blood pressure monitoring ) Laboratory until 2015. At that time became Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory; Actively participated in the organization of the regional (Algarve) Via Verde (fast track) plan for Myocardial Infarction since its beginning until it became part of a national project.
Participated as co-researcher at the National Registry of Acute Coronary Syndromes; at the Cardiology Service was responsible for liasing with the Hospital's Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee (a position still held); Has mentored the training of several physicians during their specialization in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine and Cardiology.
