Joint Commission International
Lusíadas Saúde was the first group in Portugal to have its hospitals receive accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), the most important US health accreditation entity.
This non-profit institution measures the full range of quality parameters which a hospital of excellence should possess, with the utmost rigor. In order for a hospital to receive this certification, it must pass through a comprehensive assessment, which lasts several months and scrutinizes the full range of hospital functions, down to the detail, guaranteeing the most rigorous international parameters.

HIMSS Analytics Technology Certification
Lusíadas Saúde has 2 Hospitals with the highest level of certifications of HIMSS Analytics (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) EMRAM Level 7 certifications. HIMSS evaluates the utilization of information and technology systems used to serve patients.
In the assessments, conducted by international experts, the various technologies used were verified, and the relationship between technology, patient safety, and health care provision was proven.
In March 2022, Hospitals Lusíadas Lisboa and Lusíadas Porto successfully concluded the adoption process of the EMRAM model of the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), going from level 6 to 7, the maximum level. The two units are part of a small elite of hospitals in Europe.
These certifications are part of a continuous and solid process that took several years. They are the result of a critical analysis of clinical practice and an inexhaustible will to improve service on behalf of patients.
