Completion of the Degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine, Universidade do Porto (1988).
Specialist in Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Coordinator of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit at Hospital Lusíadas Porto since its foundation.
Internship at the Plastic Surgery Service of Hospital Tondu in Bordeaux, directed by Prof. Jacques Baudet (includes course in Microsurgery) (1996).
Director of the Plastic Surgery Unit at Hospital de S. Sebastião since its foundation (1999).
Presented over 80 papers, mostly as author but also as co-author, in national and international scientific meetings.
Twenty papers published as author and co-author in national and international specialty journals.
Introduced in his Service pioneering techniques at world level in the reconstruction of the lower limb (Sural Island Flap) and of the upper limb (digito-metacarpal dorsal Flap) and of the head and neck (Inverted Flow Auricular Flap).
Performed over 20,000 surgical interventions (1991 - 2014).
